Saffron has been used as a flavour, aroma and dye, in many cultures for thousands of years. It features in European, North African and Asian cuisines. Try using it in French bouillabaisse, Spanish paella, Moroccan tajines and English breads and cakes.
Saffron is known to have many health benefits and we love it just as a tea, add hot water to several strands and allow to infuse.
The aroma and flavour are a mix of honey and vanilla and infusion imparts a yellow-orange colouring.
